A person who claims to be a Verizon employee has leaked a roadmap for the carrier. The information covers 9 devices from September to January and let's start with the smartphone on the tip of every Verizon customer's tongue-the Motorola DROID Bionic. Thanks to comments from Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha, we have been looking for a September launch of the much anticipated phone, and according to the roadmap it will be September 8th when the beast is let loose. We reported yesterday on the specs of the device straight from Motorola, so now all that is left to surprise us with is the price.
On the same date, the roadmap tells us to expect the Samsung Stratosphere. This phone is expected to r...

Motorola DROID Bionic specs confirmed by Motorola
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaDROID BIONIC Etna
On Motorola's MotoDev site is a chart listing specs of three of the manufacturer's smartphones. On the left is the recently launched Motorola DROID 3 while on the right is the just released Motorola PHOTON 4G. And in the middle is the handset that Big Red customers have been waiting to see since the CES in January, the Motorola DROID Bionic.
Forget that the model number listed for the handset is for the old model, that would appear to be a legitimate mistake. The official specs for the DROID Bionic include a 1GHz TI OMAP4430 dual-core processor (making the handset eligible to receive Netflix HD), 1GB of RAM (vs. 512MB for the DROID 3), a 4.3 inch qHD display and an 8MP rear camera that captu...

DROID Bionic for Verizon Coming September 2011?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaVerizon WirelessDROID BIONIC Etna
The DROID Bionic was a hot announcement during CES, and we really couldn’t wait to get our hands on one. However, we didn’t realize that the spec-packed Android handset would take several months to hit the market. We’re now hearing that the DROID Bionic isn’t going to arrive until early September – what gives?
Droid-Life says according to its sources:
We had been hearing 9/1 from a variety of sources over the last two weeks and should have stuck with that date. According to a report received today along with this photo, Motorola reps are telling VZW folks that they should expect the device in “early September.”
Over the past seven months since CES – has that much time passed already? – seve...

Droid Bionic's secrecy betrayed on Amazon, by simple dock listings
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaAmazonDROID BIONIC Etna
We had our hands on a raw version of the Droid Bionic way back at CES, but two listings on Amazon for desktop and car docking stations, uncovered by Android Central forum posters, may give the clearest look at the phone so far. As you can see in the shot above of the desktop dock Motorola's slab appears to have a chrome ring running around the outside, while the dock itself has a 3.5mm audio out, HDMI output and USB ports. There's no price or release date listed for either accessory but if you've been lusting over the beast and its rumored specs we're figuring some quiet time with these shots is just what the doctor ordered -- check after the break for a shot of the car dock and the back of ...

Motorola DROID Bionic makes appearance in Best Buy ad
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaDROID BIONIC Etna
A leaked photo of an ad for Best Buy apparently is showing off the re-designed Motorola DROID Bionic. As we reported, Verizon's first dual-core LTE model is expected to launch on August 4th. Unfortunately, the ad doesn't confirm the launch date or reveal a clue about pricing. The phrase "Coming Soon" is placed under the picture of the heavily anticipated phone.
This leaked ad allegedly shows off the long awaited Motorola DROID Bionic
Originally shown to the public at the CES, Motorola pulled the original DROID Bionic and replaced it with a whole new model and a delayed launch. The specs of the device have been rumored to be all over the place. We had told you about a tweet from Motorola th...

Droid Bionic seemingly clears the FCC, may finally be headed for (US) glory
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaDROID BIONIC Etna
Is this the Droid Bionic, eager to make its US debut at long last? After a false start, it's looking more and more like Motorola's next superphone could be inching ever closer to that elusive "summer release," with a new FCC filing showcasing a cellular communications device with EVDO, LTE, 700MHz radios, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and an inductive charging battery cover. 'Course, a few things are still under wraps until August 7th, so it's fairly impossible to tell with any level of certainty what handset we're peering at. The clues most certainly add up, however, and if you were thinking of holding out just a wee bit longer, maybe the outline above is just what you needed to find patience...
