Samsung NX11 Pro Reviews

www.whatdigitalcamera.com‘s review Edit

There's little new to get excited about when comparing the NX11 to the previous NX10, but that's beside the point when considering the NX11 on its own merit. An upgrade model this isn't, but the NX11 does successfully bring out-of-the-box i-Fn lens compatibility. That helps in providing a ‘calling card' for the NX series; that unique principle that should help the NX stand out in an ever more crowded Compact System Camera market. Image quality is good, the autofocus has been improved by a fair margin from its previous incarnation and the body layout makes good sense in the hand. It feels like a mini-DSLR in many resepcts, though with hot competition working up yet more advanced models we'd still like to see a bigger lift for the NX-series. Despite all its great points, the NX11 just isn't quite that big push we'd been hoping for. Saying that it's still a very good camera indeed that's worthy of attention and one of a handful of Compact System Camera to provide a viable alternative to a full-on DSLR system.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX11 is a great camera to use, quick at focusing and produces Digital SLR quality photos with good colour and detail. The camera has a good rubberised grip front and back yet is still smaller than most interchangeable cameras that have Digital SLR styling. The iFunction lens gives a quick way of altering settings without having to go through menus options or move the camera away from your eye. The camera also features a smart mode and a full range of scene modes, that will help beginners, or anyone who's not sure how to get the best shot in a particular setting. The camera has a great screen, a great electronic viewfinder, and an abundance of controls and buttons on the outside and despite being made by a huge electronic company, feels like a real camera with a re-assuring shutter sound. The Samsung NX11, with a great Digital SLR styled body, is a fun camera to use and produces great images.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

Overall, we really like the Samsung NX11. It's not as big as a traditional digital SLR, but it still has a digital SLR-sized sensor and its results are very good. You can use the NX11 for all types of photography (depending on the lenses you have), although it can struggle at times in low-light situations. We like the fact that you get an EVF and a flash built in. We don't care much for the i-Function feature in the new lenses, but it does give you another way of doing things when it comes to changing settings. Available for around £410 inc VAT, it's an interchangeable-lens camera that's well worth considering, but with entry level models from Nikon and Canon now available for not much more money, we think the NX11 would be more enticing at a lower price.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Although the Samsung NX11 won't win any awards for originality, it is the best Samsung compact system camera yet and does just enough to remain competitive in an increasingly crowded market. With strong recent rumours of the NX20 and NX200, the NX11 might have an even shorter lifespan than the NX10, but don't let that put you off what is a very accomplished camera. Highly recommended.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Decent as it is, we’d be lying to say we’re not a teeny bit disappointed that the NX11 just doesn’t put that little bit extra on offer. We suspect the very near future will bring a more advanced NX-series model in order to further pep-up the range. But for now the NX11 stands tall and delivers the goods: if you’re after a DSLR-styled hybrid compact system camera then it is one of the best models out there.
