Jawbone Jambox Pro Reviews

TheVerge‘s review Edit

Listening to the swirling introduction of the The Cars, "Moving in Stereo" was like standing in a new wave Osterizer with Paulina Porizkova running her fingers through my hair... and that's a good thing. Unfortunately, the effect only works on tracks recorded with three-dimensional binaural listening in mind. Thus, I found myself constantly toggling the feature for each new track in order to test the benefits. Behavior that'll get old, quick. The 2.0 update is available now.

Jawbone has once again outclassed the competition with a portable speaker that is sonically superior to even some of the big boys. It has a massively solid feel that is defensive weapon worthy, yet it will have your ears oozing with delight. Just remember that it’s $199.99; money well spent if you travel with any portable gadget.

Engadget‘s review Edit

So if the Jambox isn't going to replace a good pair of headphones, loudspeakers or speakerphone, what good is it for you? Why, it's the perfect way to augment anything you'd share that doesn't have decent speakers of its own. Plugged into a bedroom TV, connected to an iPad or typical laptop -- or any phone you'd care to name -- there is absolutely no comparison between the Jambox and the drivers these devices ship with. And if someone doubts the potency of your purchase, you won't have to belabor the point -- just casually hand them the Jambox and let them feel for themselves.

Buy a Jawbone Jambox and you'll be desperate to pull it out at parties and impress your friends. The problem is they'll ask you the price and you'll feel rather silly. Ultimately the Jawbone Jambox is a hugely impressive feat of engineering with admirably rich, powerful sound at mid and upper volume levels, but Aliph needs to price it under £100 if it really wants to be taken seriously.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

What you get with the Jawbone Jambox is a top-notch portable device which will bang out clear audio and serve as a handy speaker phone. The build quality is there, the design is good enough to appeal to most and it is very easy to set-up and use. It's the price though, that is the sticking point and although it is clear Jawbone has given a good deal of thought to this product, £160 is a lot of money to ask. As such it's something of a luxury, meaning if you've got the cash we can't help but recommend it.
