Sony VPL-HW15 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The VPL-HW15 it doesn't have as wide a range of features as many other projectors around the £2,000 mark. Frame interpolation in particular is conspicuous by its absence. However it has outstanding picture quality, making it one of the best projectors you can buy in its price range.

bit-tech‘s review Edit

The Sony VPL-HW15 is quite keenly priced for a 1080p projector, so in the world of projectors, it’s relatively entry-level. However, it produces such excellent image quality it really is worth a second look. The only off-putting thing is its large size, but if you can afford to have it permanently installed then the size of the unit won’t be much of a concern.

The VPL-HW15 offers an excellent performance at its price point and is certainly a projector you should seek out for a demo.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The only catch is that this technology still carries something of a premium, so while DLP and LCD projectors are tumbling in price, Sony's projectors are looking a little pricey. Clearly though, there are advantages and on contrast and black and white levels, this is the mid-priced projector to beat.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The first of Sony's new projectors suggests that SXRD technology is certainly not, as I'd feared, going to be left behind in the mad race for projection domination we're destined to witness in the coming pre-Christmas weeks. The VPL-HW15 is pretty, considerate, surprisingly affordable, and best of all, really very good. What's more, it's got us very keen indeed to get stuck into Sony's new VW85 SXRD flagship…

ProjectorCentral‘s review Edit

Sony's new HW15 is their lowest-priced 1080p projector yet released. Despite the price, Sony has made few compromises regarding image quality and feature set. The HW15 improves upon the HW10 in several ways. It brings the best features of LCOS, like a silky-smooth film-like picture, deep black levels, and silent operation down to a price point that's accessible to more consumers.

Home Theater‘s review Edit

Sony’s new BRAVIA VPL-HW15 is a reworking of last year’s VPL-HW10. At a modest $3,000 (modest as projectors go, that is), the VPL-HW15 offers a useful lineup of features and a picture that I didn’t expect at this price. With exceptional color, barely short of state-of-the-art blacks, and vivid, almost 3-D images on the best program material, it….
