Roccat Kone[+] Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Roccat Kone[+] gaming mouse offers a solid collection of features, a design that looks and feels great, and with the addition of RoccatTalk, maybe a new style of play.

bjorn3d‘s review Edit

This is one of the few mouse products that has completely dominated our scoring categories. Performance was amazing due to the fact that there was zero discrepancies in sensitivity between applications and DirectX games and it was even possible to use one dpi setting for everything (in this case 3000 dpi using a monitor resolution of 1920x1200). One may argue that this should be the case with any mouse, but experience and testing has shown that this only happens under ideal circumstances. This type of performance is partially attributed to the superior self-calibrating tracking distance and control unit. Listing at approximately $80, it is a slightly higher priced peripheral, but one is getting a lot of bleeding-edge features not found elsewhere, especially the dazzling cyclic color spectrum show (which really makes this product unique). The build quality is top-notch, with a heavier feel and all parts of the hand and fingers are supported. It was obvious that the Roccat R&D team clearly spent some quality time with this product and it reflects in its' innovation and presentation.

Being a long time user of the EasyShift[+] button and software, the move the Kone[+] was simple for me. While it did take a couple of hours to get into the swing of using the default buttons again, once I was used to it I was changing volume, opening Photoshop and adding profiles for my favorite games so all I have to really do with the keyboard is move the character where I want to go. The shape of the Kone[+] is more subdued than what we saw in the Kova[+] and moving over to the 6000 DPI laser sensor gives you a much better feel in the hand and superior tracking with the Kone[+]. I didn't even get into the lighting scheme of the mouse, or the aesthetics at all really and I was sold on this mouse.

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

ROCCAT has succeeded in creating a brilliantly performing laser gaming mouse with an extensive driver suite that incorporates all the features you want and some useful extras. The looks of the mouse is debatable, but fortunately ROCCAT has an all-lights-off switch for people over twelve. Ergonomics wise the Kone[+] is one of the better mice out there, but it is not quite as refined as that of the Mionix Naos 5000 or SteelSeries Sensei. Priced at €70 this mouse is for the die-hard gamers that want the best tracking experience possible and play with a medium to high sensitivity. The driver suite that accompanies the ROCCAT Kone[+] is a real treat to MMORPG and RTS players because it expands the functionality of the buttons and allows you to configure new macros at a rapid pace. That coupled with the nine well performing buttons on the mouse makes it a very interesting mouse for such purposes. For everyday use the mouse is perhaps a bit overkill, but its good ergonomics, true tracking and customization options make it just as suited for precision work in photo-editing as in games.

hardwaresecrets‘s review Edit

The German company releases a gaming-grade mouse with a technology capable of expanding to 22 programmable functions. See how this feature worked on our The Kone[+] shines with the intelligent solution that is the EasyShift [+]. The body has an interesting shape that can be used by a left-handed person, but the user would lose the benefit of the EasyShift[+] technology since he/she wouldn’t reach the button five on the left side. The inclusion of pre-recorded macros is a great idea for those who shudder when thinking about programming macros. The weight compartment cover needs to be redesigned. .

benchmarkreviews‘s review Edit

The Roccat KONE[+] is a great all around mouse. If you are an FPS gamer then you will really appreciate the 6000dpi laser sensor and the EasyAim function, but all the extra buttons may well be wasted on you. MMO and RTS gamers will really appreciate the EasyShift[+] and Roccat talk capabilities that will surely increase your APM to all new levels.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Kone [+] is a worthy update and well worth a look. The only issue is that the R.A.T. 7 – by far my preferred option – is only £4 more now.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Roccat Kone [+] is an outstanding gaming mouse. Thanks to configurable light effects and a stylish design, it is ideally suited for large gaming notebooks like the Asus G73JW or an Alienware M17x. In addition to the nice design, we were also impressed by the chosen materials and the fit of the Kone Plus.
