FujiFilm FinePix F300EXR Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

At the lower sensitivity settings the F300EXR produces high quality images , but some photographers will be disappointed that Fujifilm has not added 'RAW' file capability as it gives them much greater flexibility in post-processing and enable them to draw more out of the files. Fujifilm's menu and control layout is also a little fussy and some users may become frustrated with the unnecessary complexity of changing settings.

The photos have their strengths and weaknesses, but this is still one of the best compact ultra-zoom cameras currently available, if a little expensive.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR is a glass-half-empty/glass-half-full pocket megazoom. There's a lot to like, especially for people who love to tinker with settings, as it has more shooting modes than the average camera. That helps make it versatile beyond its 15X optical zoom lens.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR is a glass-half-empty/glass-half-full pocket megazoom. There's a lot to like, especially for people who love to tinker with settings, as it has more shooting modes than the average camera. That helps make it versatile beyond its 15X optical zoom lens. But a fews key shortcomings prevent it from reaching its full potential, and some of the camera's more enticing modes don't work as well as I had hoped. You can find better cameras for full manual controls, for overall image quality, or for video quality if one of those criteria is especially important to you. The FinePix F300EXR ultimately falls into the realm of "jack of all trades, master of none."

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR is a great camera to take anywhere, any time and know that it is capable of recording almost anything. A wide zoom range, excellent construction quality, enormous versatility in the settings and options available. Even though there are a few operational glitches, such as the easily moved dials, susceptibility to flare and noise levels somewhat on the high side, it still has a lot to offer. A thoroughly enjoyable camera to use that is capable of very respectable results.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm Finepix F300EXR may command a premium price but, in return, it looks great, is very well constructed and, noisy zoom aside, handles like a dream. Shame then that its image quality was not quite as stunning as its showy exterior or rear review screen seemed to suggest in the field. The flash automatically popping up when you turn the camera on, rather than just when you've actually selected to use a flash mode, is also annoying, though like a partner's annoying habit it's a quirk that you gradually find yourself putting up with over time.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Though the F300EXR gives a very impressive first impression, the disappointment comes when a critical eye is turned on the actual images it produces. They're a mixed bag and we still struggle to see pronounced benefits from the EXR sensor. The F300EXR struggled with brighter conditions, with burnt out highlights and pixel fringing evidenced between areas of high contrast. Colour wise, we felt the images were a little flat straight out of the camera. Selecting Velvia mode, which matches the warmer results most point and shoot competitors provide on default standard settings, put this right to an extent, but Fuji gets a "could do better" from us.
