Alienware M15x Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The M15x is the first Alienware laptop to transition to Intel's Core i7 processors, but the M17x is looking like the better pick when it gets the same Core i7 treatment.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The M15x is one of the best gaming laptops we've seen. Its great design is perfectly complemented by decent performance and it's also very reasonably priced – not something we can say very often about gaming systems.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

We love the Alienware M15x for being an unadulterated gaming rig that is so exuberant. It's difficult not to be drawn to it's over-the-top looks and attention to detail. But you do pay for it. The lowest spec (which is still fairly impressive) comes in at £1199. The configuration reviewed here comes in at £1578, and that's not even the top spec.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

The performance of the Alienware Area-51 m15x is impressive for a notebook, we will give it that much. However, when compared to a budget desktop gaming system, it did not fair all that well and for the most part it was slightly slower.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

With the arrival of the Dell Alienware m15x, we're glad that we finally had a chance to test drive a state-of-the-art gaming monster unlike say, HP's Voodoo, which doesn't even look remotely like it's coming anywhere to this region. Given the very hardcore nature of its specifications, it may not be easy to find a similarly equipped notebook that retains the build quality of the m15x.

Register Hardware‘s review Edit

You pay a steep price for the Alienware m15x with all the bells and whistles and in return you get a colossal amount of gaming power with graphics that would shame many a desktop PC.

Alienware m15x is one of the best gaming notebooks to ever hit the market. It has loads of performance for general productivity tasks and when game time comes around it has the muscle for today's hottest video games.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The M15x already represents one of the most unique and daring notebooks on the market. A futuristic design and illumination strike you right away, no matter where you look. Alienware also doesn't go in for many compromises under the hood and, according to their own statements, offers "...the universe's most powerful 15" laptop."

The M15x, one of the best-performing 15-inch gaming notebooks around, is loaded with cool features and top-shelf components. It’s also quite expensive and heavier than most notebooks in this class.

NotebookReview‘s review Edit

The M15x is a well-rounded 15.6” gaming notebook with extreme performance. Its physical appearance and AlienFX customizable lighting system are truly unique. The full HD 1080p screen is terrific. The keyboard feels good and the build quality is generally top notch. We have some reservations – the poor touchpad surface, heavy and large form factor for a 15.6-inch notebook, and lack of HDMI – but for those willing to swallow the price tag ($3,274 as configured), the M15x is sure to deliver a rewarding experience.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Keeping the same revised look and feel as the recent 17-inch M17x version, the Alienware M15x is an imposing black slab of computing power that's thicker and heavier than most 17-inch laptops...

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

Following the redesign of its 17-inch gaming notebook flagship, Alienware went and gave the same extreme makeover to the M15x, its newest 15-inch notebook. Not only does this monster have the same intimidating looks as the M17x—a menacing grille and colored backlit keyboard—but, outfitted with an Intel Core i7 processor, it shattered a number of our benchmarks. Of course, like every Alienware machine, the M15x doesn’t come cheap (starting at $1,499, $2,574 as configured), but if you have the means you won’t be disappointed.
