Sony BDV-E370 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

A fantastic Blu-ray player paired with decidedly substandard speakers. It's still tempting at this price but we recommend spending more.

We're all about performance-per-pound quality - and this stunning Sony delivers. If you’re in the market for an all-in-one system that does the name justice, then this Sony setup is hard to beat. Considering the price, the amount of technology that’s crammed in to this machine really does deserve some sort of award… and who knows, in a couple of months’ time, it might just get one. We expect this to sell by the bucket-load – and rightly so.

It may not be the prettiest system around, but in most other respects this is a great home cinema kit from Sony. It’s easy to use, produces great sounding audio and delivers crisp HD pictures for the price. It would have notched up a slightly higher rating if all the touted features were actually present. That said, the eventual release of the 3D update and the forthcoming support for DNLA networking can only add to the system’s long term appeal.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The BDV-E370 deserves praise for its wealth of features, 3D support and excellent picture performance, all of which can be yours for a surprisingly reasonable price. On the downside, the subwoofer doesn't live up to the quality of the other speakers and adding Wi-Fi is a pricey business, but there are enough positives elsewhere to stop these things being deal-breakers.

Taking the BDV-E370’s features, performance and ease of use into consideration, you can’t fail to be impressed. There’s a style and slickness behind everything it does, and most pleasingly it delivers better sound quality than most of its similarly priced rivals. On the downside, it’s lacklustre in the looks department, the subwoofer is flawed and the need to buy optional extras for some of the most appealing features bumps up the price nearer to that of the Samsung HT-C6930W, another 3D-capable system that offers the same features as standard. But if you can do without Wi-Fi and wireless rears then this is great value, particularly if you’re hoping to join the 3D revolution sometime in the near future.
