With an easy to use menu and physical QWERTY keyboard, the Pantech Ease is a nice device that will appeal to casual phone users and text addicts alike.

Considering the Pantech Ease is admittedly designed for an older crowd looking for a simple device that is easy to use without squinting or precise aiming, Pantech gets a lot right, but misses a few key opportunities. The hardware is well designed without looking too much like a business phone. The hardware keys are easy to use without looking big and goofy. Many phones aimed at an older crowd can look like children's phones, like the Jitterbug devices. The Ease is equally appealing to any crowd looking for a simple messaging device.

The Ease is indeed easy to use, but as with many similar devices, it's very difficult to recommend because of AT&T's mandatory, expensive messaging plan.

Pantech has been relentless in pushing handset after handset out of its doors as AT&T holds an eclectic mix of quick messaging devices from the manufacturer. Design might not be one of its highlights as it's more focused on functionality to both the younger and older generations, but fortunately the Pantech Ease manages to find a common balance. Youthful individuals will like its combination touchscreen and QWERTY form factor as it hold a decent mix of features for them, but at the same time, the easy mode is straightforward enough for older adults. In the end, the Pantech Ease continues in being a decent offering that won't be too much of a burden when it comes down to purchasing it – while functioning properly like other quick messaging phones.

Though we have a few quibbles with it, the Pantech Ease is overall a smart hybrid that will please both grandparents and grandchildren alike.
