Edifier's MP300 Plus speakers are an improvement over a poor set of built-in laptop speakers, but we were expecting better sound quality from a 2.1 set.

Considering its portable size, lightweight build and reasonable asking price, the Edifier MP300 Plus would be a valuable asset to anyone who regularly listens to music or watches DVDs away from the comforts of home. Its well-made, hardwearing case is a wonderful addition considering the cost, and this would prove invaluable when transporting the system between locations. Most importantly, the sound quality of the speaker system and subwoofer is fantastic. Whether you're listening to music or film audio it's punchy and powerful without being overbearing. There's also the added bonus that it can be set-up very quickly, even by the less tech-savvy user.

With so many bulky, poorly designed portable speakers on the market that lack decent audio quality, the Edifier MP300 Plus is like a breath of fresh air. These speakers are affordable and of excellent quality, and their unobtrusive design makes them ideal for someone with limited desk space. Their light weight also makes them ideal for travel. The Edifier MP300 Plus speakers offer great audio quality but don't cost a fortune.
