Samsung HT-C6930W Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Sonically, this system delivers its most impressive surprise; the speakers mesh together exquisitely to deliver a finely controlled soundscape. Even at high volumes distortion remains a totally alien concept as vocals, effects and musical score blend perfectly. In its sector, this is without doubt a class-leading product.

As a brave harbinger of a new world of network-hip BD-receivers, the Samsung HT-C6930W is a real eye opener. It packs more ways to pass the time into an affordable package than any home theater product I’ve previously reviewed. Its strengths include a very responsive Blu-ray 3D drive and mostly slick integration of numerous broadband-connected features. Samsung’s approaches to aesthetics and ergonomics are conceptually brilliant, though there’s room for improvement. Still, this is the kind of product that raises the bar for its category in many respects. It could be the start of something big.

Sound quality was far from poor, but differences between this and the cheaper C6500 set, which uses almost exactly the same speakers, were barely distinguishable. As such, the additional £120 expense only provides Blu-ray 3D support, WiFi and two extra wireless speakers.

All-in-one surround sound systems don’t come much better than the HT-C6930, not just in terms of audio performance, but also looks, build quality, value for money and functionality. Disc-spinning is its forte, with first-class Blu-ray performance helping to make it as good a ready-made 3D system as you’re ever likely to find.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

We thought Samsung’s HT-C6500 was generously equipped, but this 3D-capable system blows it out of the water. With built-in Wi-Fi, comprehensive networking functionality, wireless speakers and tons of other features, it easily justifies its price tag (which, to be fair, is lower than you might expect, especially if you shop around online).

If you’re looking to join the 3D revolution and bag yourself a decent 7.1-channel sound system in the process, the HT-C6930W is the perfect place to start. 3D capability is the star attraction, but even if you don’t take advantage of it straight away (after all, those TVs don’t come cheap) then there’s plenty to keep you entertained in the meantime. As well as the phenomenal feature list, it’s stylish, easy to use and provides superb 2D hi-def pictures.
