FujiFilm FinePix Real 3D W1 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

It's early days for digital 3D photos and video and this is a first-generation camera, but it does show what's possible and it can take effective 3D images with close to the simplicity of a straight 2D digital compact. Given the price it's hardly an impulse buy, though, and it may only catch early adopters.

reghardware‘s review Edit

When you think of what you get for your money, then the Finepix Real 3D W1 isn’t bad value. Throw in the fact that it also makes it very easy to create 3D images and you have a product that should appeal to fans of stereoscopic photography. The Finepix Real 3D W1 has a few quirks - and Fujifilm should seriously consider supplying 3D creative software and a cheap pair of anaglyph glasses with any future 3D camera – but if you’re interested in 3D imaging, you certainly should take a close look at this camera.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

It's certainly an interesting camera to look at and even though it hurt my brain if I looked at it in the wrong direction, it was great to see the proper 3D images on the screen of the camera. This is a 3D effect image which shows considerable depth compared to normal photograph but is more similar to the Magic Eye images that used to be popular where you had to find a dinosaur.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Fuji FinePix Real 3D W1 lets you shoot 3D images (using Fujifilm's 'Real 3D Lens System') and view them on its 2.8-inch LCD, without the need for 3D glasses. The 3D images the camera captures are incredibly impressive. Like most modern compacts, the W1 takes 2D movies, and being a 3D camera, goes one better and does them in 3D too. An 8-inch 3D picture viewer and 3D printing service are available separately.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Reviewing the Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 has proved both an enjoyable and frustrating experience. Enjoyable in the sense that this a truly remarkable first-generation product, capable of creating convincing 3D photos at the push of a button, but frustrating in that they can only be viewed (currently) on the camera's LCD screen or the optional V1 photo viewer.

A surprisingly compact device – when you consider what's packed into it – that makes it easy to create 3D images and movies.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

For those who are already addicted to 3D content creation, be it video or still, the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 is a dream come true. It takes a lot of the hassle out of 3D image creation, but doesn’t limit you to auto-only features. It's a shame, then, that there isn't anything supplied in the box to handle the software conversions you'll probably find yourself doing. Fujifilm have muttered previously that software should be coming, but no sign of it yet.
