Canon PowerShot A1100 IS Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A1100 IS is a fine budget shooter, but it's virtually identical to its predecessor, the A1000, which you can buy for at least $50 less.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

With a street price double that of the A480, it's only natural that we'd expect rather more from the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS and, sure enough, this model boasts DIGIC 4 image processing, an optical image stabiliser, slightly more zoom range (4.0x) and, at 12.1MP, an extra couple of megapixels to play with. Unfortunately, the A1100 IS features the same uninspiring 2.5-inch, low-res LCD as the A480 but, uniquely in the group, this is complemented by an optical viewfinder. The A1100 IS offers everything that the A480 does, plus a couple of extra tricks, but it's a touch expensive.

Aside from a couple performance quibbles, the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS provides a good point-and-shoot experience with great pictures as a result.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

The Canon Powershot A1100 IS is a great budget-priced compact which offers simple point-and-shoot operation with a degree of control for those who want a little more involvement with their photography. Although not the most compact of designs by today's standards, it looks good, feels robust and is comfortable to hold.

A great value for the price, with better image quality than more expensive cameras and a nice feature set.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The PowerShot A1100 IS is another excellent addition into an already fantastic line of digicams from Canon. This easy-to-use compact camera offers many high-end features, like the 12.1-Megapixel imaging sensor and Canons new DIGIC 4 processor, which combined help it provide good performance and capture beautiful images.
