If you're on the lookout for a media centre laptop, then the Acer is well worth a shot. The screen matches the very best on the market, and the rest of the laptop also stands up well under scrutiny. With a powerful graphics card, decent quality, loads of features, it's a good all-rounder. Just don't plan on taking it on the daily commute.

In all fairness, the Acer Aspire 8935G isn't really an update to the Aspire 8930G than say, a newer model. The 8935G improves on a lot of the design aspects found on the 8930G while maintaining much of the feel of the Aspire series. Acer has also used ideas from some of its newer designs like the Timeline series, e.g. the chiclet keyboard and successfully implanted it onto the 8935G. The keyboard feels just right on the notebook and brings to it a much needed elegance.

All in all the Acer Aspire 8935G leaves a thoroughly positive overall impression. The 8935G is a big format multimedia notebook with an interesting price/performance ratio. The case can first of all convince with its design, even though the quality impression suffers from the materials used and slight deficits regarding stability.
