Sony PRC-700 charging problem

I have two Sony PRC-700 e-books. Both of them are having problems charging - it just does not start. Any ideas how to fix it?

Level 7 As far as I know this model has a problem - when the battery ran totally out of power the reader freezes and can't be used. One thing is to buy new battery or call Sony

Level 9 How are you trying to charge them with the USB Cable or with an AC adapter? If you`re using the USB i`ve read that the original cables of PRC-700 are hybrid, so if you use another cable you`ll get sync only...try the original cable it might work

Level 2 You can call Sony and if the readers have warranty, they should be replaced.
