FujiFilm Finepix F70EXR Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

It's rare that a camera rewrites the rule book, and even rarer when it's so well rounded and affordable.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

I really liked the F70EXR and I had lots of fun shooting with it. We are right in the middle of our fall color peak here in the Ohio Valley and I shot the digital equivalent of dozens of rolls of film trying to capture that once-a-year riot of autumn/harvest hues. The F70EXR did a good job and never let me down (although when the battery icon says Low Battery, it isn't kidding) but in the final analysis this camera just misses greatness.

MacNN‘s review Edit

It's in the camera's potential role as a second camera for a hobbyist or professional that Fujifilm encounters the most trouble. It's far from a poor camera -- in many respects, it's excellent -- but it's targeted more at an in-between segment of the market that values image quality only just enough to pay a small premium.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

With a host of innovative features not found outside the Fujifilm range, the Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR boasts class-leading results in low light at high ISO settings. It enjoys a firm and attractive build, is fast and responsive, and easy to use. This makes the Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR great value, even given the lack of HD video capture mode.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

It's a mixed bag of performance from the FinePix F70 EXR giving lots of detail and lovely colours but then it's let down with mid to high ISO levels. I like the design and materials used for the casing and I think squeezing a 10x optical zoom into such a thin camera is a feat in itself.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

Fujifilm have released a camera that has a revolutionary sensor, yet still the image quality would come out below the standards I'd expect from technology as advanced as this. On its own, the Fujifilm is a great camera, it's well built, has the Pro-Focus mode for cool portraits and the EXR menu that takes advantage of the sensor. It also features the film simulation modes which give the images a tone similar to 35mm film.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

More than most of itslike, the F70EXR suggests itself as an ideal travel companion best suited to spur of the moment snaps. That said the broad focal range and EXR and film simulation modes do provide a wealth of creative possibilities, ably allowing the photographer to take in everything from landscapes to candid close ups.

The FinePix F70 EXR is part of an innovative EXR line that provides excellent image quality, performance and versatility to users, while remaining easy enough for anyone to pick up and operate.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR is a stunningly versatile camera, a pocket-sized superzoom that can take superb pictures in any lighting conditions, and is better in low light than anything else in its class. It is well made, handles well, is easy to use, and even offers some creative manual settings. In a market crowded with near-identical long-zoom compacts the F70 stands out as something a bit special.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR improves on most of the core functionality of the F200EXR camera at a much more affordable price-point, although it's not all good news - obvious purple-fringing and an effective resolution of just 5 megapixels in most of the EXR modes detract from the overall image quality.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR takes beautiful shots and packs a wide-angle, 10x optical zoom lens in a small body, but its lackluster user interface and the omission of HD-video capture might be dealbreakers for some.

A compact megazoom with a lot to offer, the Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR is very good for its class, but with a few limitations.
