Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The Timescape UI and customisations make up for the older version of Android, and some may like its cute size, but battery life is poor and there's little storage space.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro really surprised us. For such a small handset it is remarkably usable, and the mini QWERTY keyboard is a great plus point. Keen web users, video watchers and map users might need a larger screen, but it could work really well for social networking fans in particular.

The Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro is a handset that requires many caveats before recommendation. If you're looking for a powerful and feature rich phone with as small a footprint as possible that has a physical keyboard then it is without equal. However, if you're simply looking for a good budget smartphone then there are other handsets we'd recommend.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro is definitely a better version of the two X10 mini series phones. Despite its slightly chunkier body, the X10 mini pro is one impressive compact Android phone with all the goodness of the X10 mini plus an excellent full QWERTY keyboard. Anyone looking for a stylish compact Android phone with no compromise on texting should seriously consider buying this. Need more screen size, consider the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 or HTC Wildfire.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Size is the key factor here, and the X10 Mini Pro is an extremely pocketable smartphone. If you're likely to be doing a lot of texting, it's a clear choice over the X10 Mini and its fiddly virtual keyboard. The Pro has yet another look for Android and makes the most of the screen's small dimensions. While it lacks all the capabilities you'd expect from larger touchscreen phones, it's a very decent effort to cram full smart phone functionality into a titchy space.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

We preferred the Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro to its closely-related cousin, the Sony Ericsson X10 mini, but it would have been a more clear-cut decision if the former had a keyboard with less stiff keys. The minute 2.55-inch screen might not sit in favor with some, but we applaud Sony Ericsson for coming up with a decent user interface.

Engadget‘s review Edit

Despite the smaller screens, SE has done a pretty good job at optimizing the interface for the two phones, and we've had little frustration with them except for the few missing apps. As for which of the two to go after, we'd go for the Pro without hesitation - sure, it's a tad heavier, thicker and more expensive, but we'd kill for a QWERTY keyboard any day. So it's safe to say that if you're looking for a small and affordable smartphone, chances are you'd want to grab yourself either of these Minis.

Small and dumpy, with a cramped screen, but this phone is surprisingly pleasant to use

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro is still too small for a full-fledged Android smartphone, but the added physical keyboard greatly improves usability.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It is what it is – the very same impressive Android-powered phone as the super little Xperia X10 Mini, only with a well-made QWERTY keyboard underneath it. The phone itself is much more powerful and responsive than any of the other phones in its entry-level price bracket, so much so that comparing this with the similarly price Vodafone 845 feels quite wrong. The X10 Mini Pro is streets ahead of it.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

As we said with the X10 mini, Sony Ericsson have done a good job of making a potentially novelty phone into something that is cute and capable of meeting many of the modern demands of a phone. We still feel that Timescape doesn't really meet its aims and we'd like to see it revised and improved, and the raw data made available in a straight feed, which would mean you didn't need a separate Twitter app.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro takes all that makes the X10 mini such an intriguing handset, and makes it better. It retains the same nice and smooth UX user interface, redesigned for the tiny 2.54” display, but adds a physical QWERTY keyboard in order to significantly ease text input. Its only drawback is it costs a bit more, but hey, those X10 minis have to fly off the shelf somehow too. In fact, the added weight and price make for the only deterrents to prefer the keyboardless version. Obviously, Sony Ericsson is willing to learn, and we can heartily recommend the X10 mini pro to be your cute mobile companion.
