Hasselblad H4D-40 Pro Reviews

reghardware‘s review Edit

These factors highlight how the H4D-40 is more attuned to the needs of commercial photographers shooting in controlled location environment. With this in mind, if you are a professional in the market for an outstanding and affordable MF system that is flexible enough to take on location, then this is definitely the camera for you and a commendable engineering effort from Hasselblad. Overall, the H4D-40 – together with the release of the cheaper H4D-31 – brings a lot of improvements over competing MF models and represents Hasselblad’s first serious step towards a more unified, 35mm-style, medium format DSLR.

shutterbug‘s review Edit

The Hasselblad H4D-40 is a formidable piece of machinery in every respect. Measuring 6.0x5.2x8.4”, and weighing in at 5.04 lbs (with HC 80mm f/2.8 lens, battery, and CF card), it incorporates a 40MP (megapixel) CCD sensor measuring 33.1x44.2mm (nearly twice the area of full-frame 24x36mm) in its interchangeable modular Digital Capture Unit (DCU), outputs 8-bit image files averaging 120MB at full res, and costs five measly bucks under $20K.
