Sigma DP1 Pro Reviews

Macworld‘s review Edit

You get sharp, accurate colors, wonderful tonality, and the ability to isolate your subject with shallow depth of field—all in a package that resembles a rangefinder and slips into a jacket pocket when turned off.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

The Sigma DP1 is certainly a unique camera and once again achieves the important goal of equipping a compact body with a DSLR-sized sensor. Use the camera in the right conditions and it really shines, delivering images with an astonishing degree of detail and sharpness across the entire frame.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

With an SRP of £600, the DP1 is hardly a cheap compact, in fact it costs more than a DSLR, but it is a unique proposition both in terms of its design and its sensor. There are other cameras with similar handling, but the sensor size is sure to appeal to a certain type of photographer.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Sigma DP1 offers the best image quality, JPEG or RAW, of any compact camera currently available today and in many ways equals DSLR cameras with APS-C sized sensors.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

Sigma's DP1 was long awaited by camera aficionados, especially those looking for an affordable "second camera" that's small enough to bring along, but captures images of SLR quality. While the DP1 exceeds expectations of image quality relative to its 4.6-megapixel image size, it falls short of current speed and operational standards, making it difficult to use for most who are accustomed to other modern digital cameras.

DP Review‘s review Edit

DP1 is a great concept that needs a considerable amount of additional work to get rid of at least some of the flaws that we have listed in this review. One can only encourage the Sigma engineers to go back to the drawing board and continue the promising work they have done so far.
