people try to instantly compare it to the ipod touch/iphone and say that it's just a bigger version. many who say this, use it in a way with a negative meaning, but for me, that nption is exactly what makes the iPad so awesome.
the iPad has a physical similar build to the ipod touch/iphone, and it also runs on the same operating system. so how do you compare the two? well... most will say that the ipod touch and iphone are great devices. well.... the iPad allows for a more in depth experience with the apps.
compare browsing the net on an ipod touch against browsing on an iPad. compare email... compare watching videos... compare reading books... compare playing games... or even compare the ipod interface. the iPad wins in every single comparisons because the screen size alone allows so much more interaction and in depth options for the interfaces of the applications.
Apple hit the bullseye by making this touch screen tablet run on the iOS.
it also shines a light on just how great the whole app setup is. the whole "there's an app for that" is awesome. apps are coming into the app store everyday! html5 web sites are popping up all over as well, to feel the void that is there from the absence of flash support, which i also give Apple the thumbs up for doing. in my eyes, all of the decisions being made by Apple are great ones.
the power of the iPad, or any iOS device, resides within the apps. it is the apps that make the device. apps can do so much more, so much better, much more "magical" on the iPad.
once people realize what the ipad, through apps, can be, the world will see that they just might be apart of the market there is for the iPad. why do i say that? because i am a musician/artist, and the iPad is my mobile music production device.
with the StudioTrack app, i have an 8 track Beast recording app. IK Multimedia just released the iRig, which makes it possible to direct line instruments/mics into the iPad for recording, which means HIGH QUALITY recording. with the Reforge app, i have a wave editor, which also can grab mp3's from email's recieved on the iPad. so if i'm working on music with someone, they can send me the mp3 through email, which i can then open ip in Reforge, then audiocopy straight to StudioTrack. also, Intua will be reeasing BeatMaker 2 for iPad later this year, which is going to be a beast of a mpc, as the original Beatmaker for ipod/iphone was one of, if not the best.
Symphony Pro will be a music notation app for composing, which I also do... so, when comparing the iPad to a Laptop/Netbook, it can definintly do what they can do, while being MUCH more portable.
realize similar capabilities for other feilds of hobbies/careers. THAT'S the iPad market. The iPad is an iOS device that is the screen size of a Netbook. FTW!
the ONLY thing missing for me is a built-in camera. :-(

I use this only for surfing and viewing my photos and videos.
if apple add something more features in it in future it will become a very useful most wanted gadget.
The future is upon us
