Nintendo DSi Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Overpriced for the extras you can get. The DSi store is potentially great, though, even if the cameras should be sent in shame to novelty corner.

bit-tech‘s review Edit

The DSi is an online-focused handheld and our opinion could easily change in the future based on how many and how good the games are that come out on the online store. For now though, despite the fact that the DSi is just as good as the DS Lite when it comes to on-the-go gaming and overall design, we just can’t justify blindly spending an extra £50 for two cameras and an online store; something which renders the DSi an utterly capable, but still disappointing upgrade to the existing model.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Nintendo DSi is a slimmer, sleeker multimedia-minded Nintendo DS, with two webcams. But it has skimpy internal storage, and AAC is the only music format supported

hardwaresecrets‘s review Edit

With two cameras, a memory card slot, a music player, a faster processor, an online DSi store and better WiFi Internet connectivity, Nintendo has added a lot to their handheld gaming device. They have also done an excellent job of revamping the interface and making it easier to use.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

As cheesy as the photo editing and audio software are, they’re neat to have and use. The Web browser is now included, which eliminates the need to spend another $30 or so unless you’re the homebrew type.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Nintendo wants the DSi to encourage gamers away from carts and physical media towards buying downloads. Which, as well as being loads easier for the consumer, also has the extra added bonus of combating the rampant piracy problem faced by Nintendo and its partners on DS.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The DSi proves once again that Nintendo are still at the top of their game when it comes to the handheld market. Should you upgrade? Well it depends on what games you play. For the time being the camera isn't going to be much use to your current collection, however you just know that developers will be gagging to use the new hardware included here in the latest games just like they already do with the mic for games like Brain training.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

While not all previous DS owners should upgrade, the DSi is an ambitious and solidly designed portable gaming system.

WiFi gaming capabilities and fun camera and sound activities make the DSi a welcome upgrade for most Nintendo fans.
