Panasonic LUMIX LX100 II
Panasonic unveiled today their very first laser optical engine. This tiny device is designed specifically to be used in LCoS pico projectors. The device incorporates red and blue lasers from external companies, but the green laser is Panasonic’s Second Harmonic Generation. The engine is capable of producing 50 ANSI lumens and a native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. Laser-based projectors have been revered for their ability to never need focusing and can display onto virtually any surface, even curved screens and edges of rooms. The projector is not expected to be available until late 2011. Also, Panasonic stated that the device will be used to create a laptop accessory for Fujitsu. »read more
