Sony has announced, released, and withdrawn the next firmware update for the PS Vita in the space of a day. Version 1.65 of the handheld console's software was set to make some minor usability tweaks including the ability to turn notifications on and off, extend the time before the system automatically goes to sleep from five to ten minutes (a welcome addition), and a caps lock function for the onscreen keyboard. Vita owners had a very small window of opportunity in which to acquire these features, though, as Sony soon pulled the update due to "a technical fault" — reportedly an issue with adhoc wireless functionality in PSP games.
