this is the toppest camera i have ever seen.
it has a visiblilty yet so pure slearifyied snap with wonderful result

I have the 40D.. which i LOVE.. a friend has the Rebel - i doesnt have the same quality feel, but its a GREAT starter SLR

Well, it may not be as good as the 40D buts its cheaper and its a pretty darn good camera. All DSLRs just pawn the point and shoot things.
