Dell U2412M - 16:10 IPS without Breaking the Bank

Dell U2412M - 16:10 IPS without Breaking the Bank

Posted on Mar 02, 2012 by MG1

For every monitor review that I’ve done for AnandTech so far, I know that as soon as I check the comments there will be a thread with the same theme: “I don’t care about 1080p monitors, I only want 16:10 aspect ratios!” When widescreen displays first came out for desktop LCD monitors, virtually every model was a 16:10 display. The 20” Dell I have on my own desk is 16:10, and almost every vendor made 16:10 panels.
As the price of flat panels dropped and HDTV adoption took over, more and more desktop panels migrated to the HDTV aspect ratio of 16:9. The reasons behind this were easy to understand, as you could produce more displays, reuse panels across PC and TV lines, and have a lower cost ac...

Dell Intros New Ultra-Slim 21.5-inch HD Monitor

Dell Intros New Ultra-Slim 21.5-inch HD Monitor

Posted on Aug 29, 2011 by MG15

Dell rolled out a new ultra-slim 21.5 inch monitor, the S2230MX. It is just 9.9 mm thick at its thinnest point. The monitor is this slim thanks to two things: first, it uses LED-backlit illumination instead of CCFL; and second, it uses an external power brick. The Dell S2230MX uses a TN panel that provides 82% color gamut coverage.

Dell's S2330MX Ultra-Slim monitor makes rival LCDs hit the treadmill

Posted on Aug 18, 2011 by MG3

Was it really only a month ago that Dell released the remarkably priced U2412M? The folks at Round Rock are already at it again with another impressive widescreen -- the unromantically named (yet impressively thin) S2330MX. Lurking behind the catchy moniker is a 23-inch display (did we mention it's thin?), LED backlighting and a DVI to HDMI adapter. Let's face it, the power cables are gonna be thicker than the monitor -- it's very thin, you see. No word on pricing but, you can order one from tomorrow, August 18th. You can see how excited Scott Bates is in the official announcement video below.
