Sony Ericsson Elm Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

You might be drawn to this handset by its eco cred, but decide to choose it for its broad spread of features. Opting for the annoying proprietary headset connector was probably Sony Ericsson's worst move with the Elm.

reghardware‘s review Edit

You’d never know the Elm was an eco friendly handset unless somebody told you, which is precisely how it should be. There are plenty of features too – more than you might anticipate from a first glance at the fairly bog standard candybar design. The camera performs well and Sony Ericsson’s usual generous provision of applications means there is plenty to do with this phone straight out of the box.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Elm packs in pretty much all the features you'd want in a modern phone, whilst keeping a traditional format. The downside here is that the user interface isn't as clear and intuitive to use as modern rivals and the operating system doesn't give you the same degree of customisation that you'll find elsewhere.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Elm mostly lives up to its remit of being an easy to use, relatively feature-rich, yet environmentally-friendly candybar phone, with particular highlights being the camera and aluminium battery cover. However, the lack of a headphone jack would really put us off and without turning off many of the best bits – Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS – battery life isn't the best.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

With the Elm, Sony Ericsson has delivered a handset that doesn't require the user to deny themselves to the point of austerity just to pocket a more eco-friendly handset. If you're looking for a sensible mid-tier candybar phone that provides good connectivity options and are more concerned with reducing your environmental impact than with touchscreen smartphone capabiliies, the Sony Ericsson Elm certainly offers an alterative that's worth considering.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Sony Ericsson Elm is a reasonably attractive package. Rich functionality comes in a well built shell and the potent user interface has done well to be in step with the times. Things get even sweeter if you happen to like the human-curvature design. And we need to say it straight – it’s not a gimmick, ergonomics are excellent.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Elm is a compact device with a promising feature set and appealing design. However, is the likeable newcomer to the Greenheart Family destined for glory or rather, doomed to join the ranks of the greatest “could have beens”...
