ASUS G51J Pro Reviews

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

The standard Asus G51J was without a doubt a very strong product which earned it some recognition here on PC Perspective, however the 3D version is less decisive.

This Core i7 gaming notebook gives you a lot of power and a full HD screen for a good price.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

All in all, the G51J-A1 is great at being itself, but not so great at being your "do-it-all" 15" notebook. The keyboard is just too lackluster to be used for daily typing chores, note taking, etc., and the battery is too poor to use on the road for any real length of time. It's a portable gaming rig in a form factor that's smaller than those gigantic 17" and 18.4" machines out there and that's about it. If you're willing to deal with the fact that this can never be your "everything" machine, great - you'll love it.

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

The Asus G51J is well designed, performs extremely well, and attractively priced - in my opinion this makes the G51J possibly the best value in mobile PC gaming. It is for these reasons the Asus G51J is being recognized with a Gold Award (unless you mouse on the left, in which case you better look elsewhere. Sorry!).

NotebookReview‘s review Edit

The ASUS G51J has a few solid improvements over the older G51VX, most notably the shift from the Intel Q9000 to the Intel Core i7-720QM processor. This change shaved roughly 5 seconds off its wPrime score alone. 3DMark06 performance went up as well, but we didn't see that much of a boost in actual gameplay. PCMark05 is also down, but it is hard to say if it was related to hardware or operating system differences.

Register Hardware‘s review Edit

The second 3D laptop to emerge, this time with Nvidia’s 3D Vision taking centre stage and also pushing up the price.

computershopper‘s review Edit

Offering more portability than its desktop-replacement brethren, the Asus G51J-A1 delivers good productivity performance, but its gaming performance is subpar.
