Motorola MILESTONE Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

While the design may be a matter of taste, good battery life and a QWERTY keyboard don't make up for a plain Android experience and clunky design

The Motorola Milestone has a superb screen and it is nice to see Android 2.0 make an appearance. But the slide-out keyboard, which should be a star feature, is disappointing and a real lost opportunity for Motorola.

The first impression of the Motorola Milestone was a bit of a disappointment, as the phone appeared chunkier and less streamlined than was expected. Using the phone made up for that, but that is thanks to the Android operating system rather than Motorola’s innovations. The Internet browser works well, although it is too bad that flash is not supported. You can now fully navigate with the Google Maps application. We see this as a fun bonus addition. All in all, the Motorola Milestone is a fun cell phone, but has not quite lived up to our high expectations.

The Milestone runs on the latest, 2.0 version of Android, delivering an easy-to-use icon-based UI which allows you to scatter widgets across three different home pages. It's quite a hefty handful though its relative slimness means it's not too much of a drag on the pocket.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Motorola Milestone is a great phone, and it's easy to see why it caused a stir in the US. But time moves quickly in the mobile market, and Google’s Nexus One trumps it in most areas. Sure the Nexus lacks multi-touch but that may be reversed in the future. Google's own is faster and its 2.1 OS is visually better.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

We've got no qualms stating that this is our second favourite Android phone behind the HTC Hero. The slick interface, the QWERTY keyboard, the premium build quality - all these things go into making the Milestone a decent phone. But it lets itself down at times by lacking any real differentiating features (apart from the cool phone portal) and that lip - well, the less said about it the better now.

A good list of specifications and a lovely screen can't quite make up for patchy performance and below par battery life

Alas, no Motoblur but, nonetheless, a top-notch Android smartphone.

Well, well - what a nice surprise we have here. The Motorola MILESTONE seems to be exactly the device the company needed. The one to grab it by the scruff of the neck and pull it out of the mess it got itself into. You know, ever since the razors started to get a little blunt and long in the tooth.

The Motorola Milestone, also known as the Droid, represents a fresh start and a second chance for Motorola to impress and influence the smartphone market.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Where the UK bound Motorola Milestone differs over the US Droid is mainly in its multi-touch support and the lack of CDMA support (i.e., so you can run it on UK operators). While the lack of Google Maps Navigation is annoying, the inclusion of Motonav means that it's no real deal breaker here.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Milestone is a much more accomplished handset than the Dext, Motorola’s previous Android offering. It’s faster, has a much better screen, supports multi-touch input and is laden down with features. In most respects it’s also a better handset than the HTC Hero, but we’re not sure it’s going to do quite as well as that phone, mainly because we can see the styling putting a lot of people off. But the Milestone certainly shows that if Motorola could come up with a decent looking design for its next Android handset it would have a real peach on its hands.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The appearance of the Motorola DROID caused a stir in the US and the phone is considered one of the best Android-based devices today. What we are introducing to you is the European version of the handset. Called the Motorola MILESTONE, it´s almost identical to its famous counterpart that has won over quite a few people across the ocean...
