Acer Liquid Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

A well-built phone with a fast processor and good battery life, but as it's based on Android 1.6 and lacks social aggregation software, it just misses out on an award.

There are no 'wow' factors or must-have features to be found in the Acer Liquid and some people may feel the build quality is a bit lacking. But there are some nice plus points which include a good screen and a solid set of core features.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

It’s a long step forward from the Acer S200 neoTouch – but the Liquid trails behind slightly more polished examples of Android, such as Google’s own Nexus One. Which in turn means the Acer Liquid is a some way behind the iPhone in sheer usability. It may appeal if you can find one at a bargain price and prefer Google’s user limitations over Apple’s.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Early tests we ran on it seemed to confirm our suspicions - it was nigh on impossible to make the phone crash or judder, such was the awesome processing power. While the overall package is actually fairly slick and functional, this certainly isn't the phone to upset the natural order in the mobile arena, and we can only hope future Android handsets from Acer (many are promised in 2010) will manage to take things to the next level.

A combination of racy CPU and the naturally slick Android UI delivers one of the most responsive touchscreen phones on the market.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Acer did a good job of the Liquid. A novice in phones, the company deservedly stands next to makers with obviously better track record like HTC and Samsung. The Liquid surely isn't the heavily customized device HTC would usually offer, but the hot looks and reasonable price tag leave no room for complaints.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Our experience with the Liquid isn't exactly a smooth ride, for it has its ups and downs. If one were to purely look at the aesthetic value, we dare say the Liquid is more appealing than some of HTC's Android lineup. Looking past the glossy nature and thus fingerprint smudge-prone Liquid, the streamlined and bare minimum layout gives the Liquid a sophisticated look. Size-wise, the Liquid won't win our votes for being easy on the hands due to its weight and dimensions, but it's not exactly a hindrance either.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall the Acer Liquid is an interesting addition to the Android portfolio. It gets some things really right: the screen is a good size and resolution and responsive enough and the essentials are covered: HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. For those looking for an Android device that hasn't been tinkered with too much, then this might be worth investigating, but beware what looks like some minor software bugs.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Liquid A1 doesn’t have the fancy 'Sense' add-ons that are offered on the Hero, but then unlike Windows Mobile, we’ve never been that convinced that you really need them on Android in the first place. Plus the phone certainly feels a lot more sprightly to use than the Hero as it doesn’t suffer from the slight sluggishness that can creep in to that model. It’s just a shame, then, that Acer hasn’t added multi-touch and improved the build quality a bit. If it had, Acer would have a real corker on its hands. As it is though, this is still a very impressive Android handset.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Acer Liquid is a solid Android smartphone with some fun extras, but it doesn't have the power of some of the other Android devices out there.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Acer Liquid A1 is the manufacturer´s first Android-based handset. It comes with capable hardware components, including 3.5-inch display, fast Snapdragon processor and interface that isn’t profoundly personalized, but offers several interesting options that we will tell you about later in the review…
