The HTC Hero is definitely the best Google Android phone available, thanks to a sleek design and HTC's own software extensions. But the "best Google Android phone" doesn't mean the best smartphone out there or even the best possible Google Android phone. Android still has a lot of room to grow.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit Like Unlike

The Hero is Android perfected and it is an excellent phone. I would recommend it over the Palm Pre and, dare I say it, something like the iPhone 3G. $180 isn’t too much to pay for the best Android phone on the market.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit Like Unlike

Software wise there is very little different between the HTC Hero released in Europe and the HTC bound for American soil (check out our Euro HTC Hero review for more on the UI). Where the difference appears is in the hardware and cosmetic design of the handset.
