NOKIA E63 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

However, for those who have a contract and need a new phone, or who prefer to use pay-as-you-go SIMs, the E63 is a decent budget choice. It loses a star for its loose battery and cover, but it still deserves a Budget Buy award.

With a range of features that excludes HSDPA and GPS, the E63 is not going to be every user's ideal smartphone. But its keyboard is superb and the dual home screen is a lure, too.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The E63 is considerably cheaper than the E71 - currently a good £80 or so less, a quick scoot round the web reveals - but all that Nokia has really sacrificed is on-board GPS. The other cut corners are things like HSDPA and a camera that's not quite as good – but all still perfectly acceptable. As a substitute for the not-too-discerning E71 fan, and as a very strong alternative to the BlackBerry, it's well worth considering.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Nokia E63 delivers excellent business and messaging features. Still, the E63 isn't suited for everyone. Consumers seeking strong multimedia features are better off with a (far pricier) Nokia N-Series phone, like the Nokia N96.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The E63 cuts a few corners on its predecessor's offering, but aside from the relatively poor camera, and the lack of GPS, there's nothing major missing. If you can't quite stretch to the E71, and want a worthy alternative to a BlackBerry, look no further.

No head-turner, but a more than capable, low-budget addition to Nokia's range of business-friendly smartphones.

The Nokia E63 is really a mobile for the masses. The low cost and ease of use are probably more game-changing than Nokia might have realized. This is easily a great device choice for those who are looking for an unlocked device with the power of BlackBerrys and Treos, but needing something different all the same.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

So overall the E63 is a very complete package giving you access to most of the goodness you’d expect in an enterprise handset. Yes, there are some elements missing, such as the GPS which you’ll find in many rivals, but at its core, it’s the sensible operating system that appeals. You still get the dubious mode switching aspect too, so if you think this would work for you, then it is there to play with; but in reality, we can’t see that this feature would stand the test of time.

While the E63 isn't quite as impressive as the E71, it's still a very good handset with excellent messaging support, a first-class keyboard and stunning battery life. If you've got the money the E71 is the better option, but if you can live without the GPS and HSDPA support then you certainly won't be disappointed with the E63.

Softpedia‘s review Edit

I was pleasantly surprised by this medium budget smartphone, which targets people that are looking for a cheap business phone. If the lack of a GPS receiver is not a big problem, nor the low quality camera, this might come to be more useful than E71 in terms of value for money. I would definitely recommend fans of the Eseries to try one, if they don't have money for the better and more expensive E71 version.

Based on the popular business smartphone, the E71, the new product of the Finns is here, and is ready to offer a full keyboard to everyone, not only to the men in suits...

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Nokia E63 is the next QWERTY messenger by Nokia, set on the glorious path of the E71. Only this time it slips off the high heels to walk it in plain straight and simple boots instead. And the matching price tag leaves little doubt of what this Working Joe here is all about.

The Nokia E63 offers a more wallet-friendly price tag compared with other unlocked smartphones and does so without sacrificing too many features; we just we wish the call quality and camera were better.
