An excellent multimedia phone with gorgeous colours on its large screen, and plenty of apps to help you organise your social life.

There is a lot to like about the Samsung Jet. Ignore the fancy cube interface (which is easily done), forget about shaking to switch apps (also easy to do), and concentrate on the core features, and this is a well put together and serviceable handset.

The Samsung S8000 Jet isn't a do-everything phone but it's still a very attractive handset, and certainly seems to deliver on its core offerings: speed and ease of use. The OLED screen is a gem and though we would have liked it to have been a smidgeon more touch-sensitive, it's great for viewing videos and web browsing. Our only real problem was the battery life.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

We've noted the Samsung Jet S8000 feels a little cheap on numerous occasions. To be fair to the designers, it's meant to be a slightly less expensive handset in order to entice the more tech-savvy consumer who doesn't want to throw oodles of hard-earned cash at his or her new phone.

The Samsung Jet is a super phone. It offers a good range of features and a nice hardware design that feels comfortable in the hand. Its processor does itself justice too. If you are considering last week's Tocco Lite, glance here for an alternative and better option.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The Samsung S8000 Jet is a very desireable phone. It has a very sleek design, and packs in a lot of good multimedia functionality. Samsung's WVGA resolution AMOLED display is a wonder to behold, and it pairs up quite nicely with the Jet's Dolfin web browser and 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera. Some of the new TouchWiz 2.0 user interface features look like cheap parlour tricks, but overall the phone comes across as solidly usable and enjoyable.

It's that time of the year and the living is easy: pool parties, blockbuster movies and new gadgets. The Samsung S8000 Jet sure knows good timing and gallantly promises a bit of everything - style, entertainment and impressively light and lively handling. It's a thing to show off to your friends and help you enjoy and capture the hot moments of the season...

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

As we inch ever closer to the holiday season, the onslaught of Samsung touch-screen phones continues. And as soon as we finished with the Samsung Highlight, Samsung dropped an even more exciting handset into our laps. Like its touch-screen Samsung relatives, the Samsung Jet (GTS800) offers the company's signature TouchWiz interface plus a host of multimedia features...
