HTC Snap Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you don't need a touchscreen but do want a good QWERTY keyboard and fancy the bells and whistles of Wi-Fi, GPS and HSDPA, then the HTC Snap is a sturdy if unexciting option.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The HTC Snap looks solidly professional but its rubberised plastic casing is extremely tactile and its Qwerty keyboard is a joy to use. Its focus is clearly on messaging, and it keeps the price down by placing its multimedia capabilities on the sidelines. Browsing and PIM functions are functional rather than fun, but the Snap is a solid little slimline, mid-price workhorse that's likely to find its way into many a pinstriped suit pocket.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The HTC Snap is small, light and functional, and it has one of the best physical keyboards we've seen on a smartphone. The Snap doesn't offer anything revolutionary but what it does, it does very well.

The Snap is a communicator's friend. Whether a person needs to check email without worrying their account won't coordinate with their phone, needs to prioritize emails by who they come from with Inner Circle, edit Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents, review a PDF file with Adobe Reader LE sent via email, search the Internet, or send a picture, video or text message, the Snap is prepared to keep a user connected.

In general I really like the HTC Snap, and if I were on the market for a new mobile phone it would be at the top of a fairly short list. It's simple, fast, and responsive, with easy to use controls and excellent battery life.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

HTC has certainly made a phone worthy of the budget business and consumer world, one that the likes of BlackBerry and Nokia have been trying to do for some time. It’s a inexpensive handset but at the same time its looks don't suffer. It hasn’t got the exceptional qualities of other HTC phones, then again it’s not meant to as it’s just a decent handset for emailing and messaging.

The Snap certainly has its plus points including onboard GPS, fast HSDPA support, a good keyboard and a decent screen. However, the Windows Mobile user interface is very clunky and the phone's battery life is relatively poor. We can't really see Blackberry users switching to the Snap, but it may be a good option for those working for corporates that insist on employees using WinMo devices.

For Alltel customers looking for a messaging-centric smartphone, the HTC Snap offers a nice, budget-friendly alternative to the carrier's BlackBerry offerings.
