LG GD900 Crystal Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

There is no denying that the gesture controls and transparent number pad are both novel and impressive. We aren't convinced they won't start to feel gimmicky after a short while, though. The absence of GPS and Wi-Fi both irritate, and there are better 8-megapixel cameras to be found.

reghardware‘s review Edit

It works perfectly well as a keypad but, if you don't like touch screens, you probably won't be keen on this either. Nevertheless, its trackpad operation is a boon; controlling what's on screen without messing it up with your pawprints, as well as delivering well-executed gesture shortcuts. All in all, it's a great little style phone that will turn heads, but won't embarrass you with a lack of functionality.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The LG GD900 Crystal is a little too expensive to justify the bad camera and the lack of GPS. For a phone that is clearly targeted at users looking for an all-purpose premium product, LG should have ensured that the camera was better and the UI more refined. Yes, the design is certainly eye-catching but after a week of using the phone, we felt that the phone could have been a lot better. The LG GD900 Crystal ia good, but not great.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The LG GD900 Crystal is a very different phone. It packs in a lot of touchscreen and touch sensitive technology, has a very class feel and a nicely designed chassis and LG's high end camera tech on board too.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

First of all the GD900 strikes you as a bit gimmicky, but that isn't really fair. The keypad does open up some interesting options for data input. The result is a hybrid handset and hybrids often suffer by not falling into one camp or another. The range of input options can leave you pressing the screen here and the keypad there, which does get a little disharmonious.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

It is a shame about the lack of GPS, the camera is not as good as other 8-megapixel offerings and the 3D cube part of the user interface is a waste of time. The phone is a magnet for greasy fingermarks, but the gesture control and Transparent Touchpad are nice ideas that work well.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

Overall, the LG GD900 Crystal is a very intriguing handset, with a great touch sensitive keypad. It also has a pretty decent web browser, and with Dolby Mobile and DivX support the music and video players are pretty decent as well. However, the messaging experience on this device is unforgivably poor, and is a real deal-breaker for me.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

We are introducing the LG Crystal GD900 to you – the first handset equipped with a transparent keyboard or, rather, a translucent touch-sensitive keypad. Is it an eccentric product of today´s modern design, a high-tech tech cell phone or the daintiest model of 2009? Let´s find out.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

When talking about good design it's usually all about placing the right elements in the right places. And in the rare cases when an R&D team actually comes up with something innovative, they usually reserve it for a 2000 buck handset like the Motorola Aura. The LG GD900 Crystal and its see-through keypad, however, prefers walking among the mortals to sitting on mount Olympus and drinking ambrosia.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The touch-screen LG GD900 Crystal's transparent, touch-sensitive, glass keypad looks cool but is pretty pointless. And, while two touch-sensitive surfaces mean there are more places to poke, it also means it's easy to make erroneous taps. While the phone sports plenty of interesting features, their implementation is sometimes lacking.
