DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

With the Canon SD850 remaining one of the most popular compact cameras out there, its follow-up model, the Canon PowerShot SD890 IS, had some big shoes to fill: preserving everything that the SD850 did well is almost as important in this case as pushing the envelope. With more resolution, a longer zoom, improved IS and auto focus systems, and a raft of new soft features, the new tech bases appear to be covered.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The PowerShot SD890 IS Digital ELPH is a compact model with 10-megapixels, a 5x optically image stabilized, zoom lens, 2.5 inch PureColor II LCD display, all packed into a contoured body. This camera's multi-control dial enables the user to simply switch between shooting modes, settings and even images during playback, with easily understandable mode icons displayed on the 2.5-inch display. There's even a traditional optical viewfinder.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

A solid compact snapshooter, the Canon PowerShot SD890 IS nevertheless disappoints when compared with its predecessors and line-mates.
