Sony Ericsson W705 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The W705 is a nicely built handset with some good features. If you need GPS or a great camera it might not be the mobile phone for you, but the W715 version at least solves the GPS problem.

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

As a phone, the W705 is easy to use. The menus are colourful and self-explanatory, while the Shake Control function allows you to change volume or track with a flick of the wrist. The bundled headphones sound quite bright and bass-heavy, but using a decent pair of buds, the phone sounds rhythmic, detailed and expressive. Even though you don't enjoy the same level of refinement or tonal balance that you do through the iPhone, the W704 is still a neat mobile handset.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Sony Ericsson has got the stylish, sophisticated music phone look off pat, and its smart W705 slider has plenty of appeal. It has a good, solid selection of attractive features, with Wi-Fi connectivity and its fine music player particular highlights. It’s no do-it-all phone, though. The camera is lame and if you pine for GPS, you'll have to go for the Vodafone-only W715.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The W705 may not have anything in the way of traffic-stopping new apps or interface, but as a solid, midrange update on the Walkman range, it's very fine indeed.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

For their first Wi-Fi slider handset the W705 is a good inclusion in the arsenal of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. There’s a decent enough battery life too, with 4 hours of talking or 350 hours of standby which is reasonable for any phone. With some minor niggles over the OS, no built-in 3.5mm socket, it’s still a phone worthy of your attention if you’d like the latest music phone with good audio playback and do not wish to go down the iPhone route.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson W705 is a comfortable, well-built and easy to use phone, though it does suffer from that awful headset connector. However, by adding BBC's iPlayer and Wi-Fi to round out its features nicely, Sony has made the W705 an attractive option.

Softpedia‘s review Edit

Sony Ericsson W705 has a catchy look and a low price that will probably boost the Swedish-Japanese joint venture revenues on the short run. Nokia, the rival, comes with its XpressMusic series, but I still think the Walkman series has the upper hand, although not for long. I recommend W705 for those looking for a cheap music phone and for fans of the slider form factor.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The new music slider, the Sony Ericsson W705 might be a mid-range device, but is still a step forward when compared to the Sony Ericsson W595 or its predecessor, the W580. It sports larger screen, Wi-Fi and come to audio quality it´s said to be at par with the top of the range phones...
