Motorola AURA Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

It is quite amazing that Motorola thinks it can sell one version of the Aura, let alone two. Anyone thinking of buying one should be ashamed of themselves and instead buy a phone for a quarter of the price, giving the balance to charity.

The lens-covered screen is a stunner and the swivel action is sweet as nuts but considering its price, if we have to do without 3G or Wi-Fi, we'd have liked to have seen a better camera on there. No one will buy this phone with the intention of being at the cutting edge of telecoms technology, but in competition with other super-priced, tiny-tech handsets, such as Nokia's 8800 Arte or the Vertu, as a pocket-friendly status symbol, it's probably the best available.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Compared to other super-expensive phones with low spec counts such as the Vertu or Nokia's 8800 series, the AURA stands tall in the style department – its distinctive look and unique screen easily put it in front of the competition.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

So what do you really get? Well there is the 1.55-inch diameter circular screen, GSM/EDGE/GPRS connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera, 2GB of built-in memory and the usual array of calendar, messages, email and the such like plus a wooden box so you can see where your money has gone.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Motorola says it takes two weeks to produce the Aura and given the quality of the swivel and outer casing I don't doubt it. But, is it two weeks well spent? One could forgive Motorola for producing this phone if it had a big portfolio of handsets covering a wide range of price points and feature combinations. As it stands, though, the Aura is one of just a few currently available from Motorola and it smacks of a complete misunderstanding of what people are looking for in today's climate.
