Touchscreen handsets are much more common than they used to be and without GPS on board the Prada II finds itself in the second division rather than the first. The QWERTY keyboard does give it quite a lift, though.

The Prada II maintain all the style of the original but packs in a more refined touchscreen user interface, a very usable slide-out keyboard, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity, and a 5Mp camera. It certainly has plenty of fashionista appeal, even if that black minimalist look doesn’t have quite the head-turning impact it once did. It's a nice phone, but behind the premium brand, it's an off-the-peg handset.

While the face of the Prada phone has changed little from the sleekly stylish original, there have been distinct changes to form as well as function. The functionality and touchscreen user interface have been vastly improved over the original, making it a far higher specified, more accomplished device than other style-brand specials. Whether that added bulk is justified enough by those features is a question would-be buyers will have to decide themselves, and some may choose to look elsewhere for slimmer phones, or mobiles that have alternative attractions inside as well as out.

The LG KF900 Prada will try to do everything for you and hey - it will come out right for the most part. To begin with, it's one of the most uncompromising all-inclusive upgrades we've seen in quite a while. The original Prada phone is improved down to the last bit of specs. A fluid and responsive touch interface, 5 MP camera, high-res video recording, lightning fast data transfers and Wi-Fi are a great treat, no doubt about that.

The LG KF900 Prada II looks pricey SIM-free, but its specification and nice interface and the excellent keyboard are all worthy of note if you can find the Prada II on a contract that suits you. Thicker and heavier than the original, the phone may have lost the sleek appeal for some, but the better and increased tech may outweigh those problems. Just make sure you get a better case for the thing if you do opt to get one: the supplied version is, well, pants.

If you can find this phone on a contract that appeals to you then what it offers may justify the outlay. But overall it doesn't seem to be doing enough to justify a price of more than £400 SIM-free. The touchphone market is cut and thrust at the moment, and while I like it, the Prada II doesn't have enough that is special to really draw the eye.

LG Prada 2 is definitely one of those weird devices that you wanna buy and then change your mind, and then wanna buy it again. Prada 2 is another proof that LG really takes into consideration all the feedback it receives from its users and continuously upgrades its proprietary interface. In my opinion, the only drawback of the phone stands in the obsolete design, which doesn't manage to attract people the way its predecessor did 2 years ago.
