HTC Touch HD Pro Reviews

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

The phones are sometimes slower than we’d have liked, which is a direct result of Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro platform. Mini Opera and Explorer are nowhere near iPhone’s browser, but they can be put to good use. After a quick adaptation period, Touch HD phone could prove to be a great mobile internet-surf station. If you’re a fan of Windows-based programs and are looking for an iPhone alternative, then look no further as your search is over.

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The HD is the latest handset in HTC's Touch range, the last one we saw being the Cruise. The Touch HD has a larger 3.8in screen, a higher-resolution camera and more storage than the Cruise. However, it lacks the miniature trackball that made the Cruise so easy to navigate, and the large display quickly depletes the battery. It uses the same TouchFlo front end, which is a touch-controlled interface that replaces the Windows Mobile Today screen.

If your pockets can cope and you like multimedia on the move then the Touch HD is an alluring prospect. It is probably the best multimedia-friendly Windows Mobile device currently available.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Other devices might offer better cameras, and better data input facilities (there's only an on-screen keyboard) and even fit better in the pocket, but all-in-all, and while the first generation Android device comes very close, the HTC Touch HD is the best alternative iPhone we've yet seen.

letsgomobile‘s review Edit

The HTC Touch HD has a beautiful design and a large and clear screen. The Windows Mobile software makes it easy to synchronize this handset and ensures it is widely applicable. Yet, the Windows Mobile software seems slightly outdated, even with the perfect application of the TouchFlo 3D interface.

Sumptuous design, a fantastic screen and a high-quality feel. Not as easy to use as an iPhone, but far more powerful.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The Touch HD is the latest uber-smartphone from HTC, and it features a large WVGA display in a new full touchscreen form factor. But can it rival Apple's iPhone?

Softpedia‘s review Edit

I was visually impressed with the new HTC toy, but after using it for a while, I didn't find serious improvements to its performance. I will say over and over again, as long as you don't have the right software behind a component, it will not work at its full capacity. Graphic drivers are a necessity for HTC devices that feature 3D interface. Still, Touch HD is better than any other HTC device and a leap forward for the Taiwanese company.

Gizmodo‘s review Edit

Frustrating is the wait here in the States for HTC's Touch HD—especially when our European friends are swimming in them. German site Area Mobile is the latest to post their impressions, and unsurprisingly, they're pretty positive. I only wish iPhone-killer had a cooler German translation.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Let’s analyze its name – Touch HD. The first word shows that the device belongs to the Touch series, known for its optimized interface in order to be finger-friendly. But what does HD stand for? HTC doesn’t explain it but we know it very well - High-definition, i.e. high resolution images/videos. This is the key feature of the Taiwanese monster. The large 3.8-inch display...

GSMArena‘s review Edit

The Touch HD is storming the WinMo stage to leave a footprint the size of half the HTC portfolio. Not so long ago we saw Windows Mobile changing for the better thanks to the TouchFLO 3D, The latest flagship gets things even hotter with a multimedia twist. And the new screen… well, beauty's in the numbers.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The HTC Touch HD dazzles with its large, high-resolution touch screen, but the smartphone's feature set and performance is average at best. You can get much more for your money.
