HTC S740 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The 2.4-inch screen palls in comparison to the modern array of touchscreens out there and the S740 doesn't have the best physical design we've seen. But it does have a range of key features, and if the keyboard is not too small for you it is a pocketable smartphone.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The S740 isn't an attention-grabber like its Touch brethren. It looks and acts much like a normal phone, and not a very pretty one at that, albeit with some very fine hidden phone features such as Wi-Fi, A-GPS and an FM radio. And it has the most practical and least imposing hard Qwerty keyboard we've yet seen. If touchscreens don't do it for you, this is the best keyboard smartphone since Nokia's very fine E71.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

If you want a smartphone that’s first and foremost a phone and quality contact manager to boot, the HTC S740 is the best of the non-3G Windows Mobile ones we’ve seen so far.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It's not the best looking handset in HTC's range, but it has one of the best slide-out QWERTY keyboards we've used, a good browser, fine music player, half-decent 3.2 megapixel camera, A-GPS and the versatility of Windows Mobile, all in a slim, pocket-friendly package.

letsgomobile‘s review Edit

The HTC S740 smartphone is a genuine handheld computer. Everything you’d expect from a smartphone is available on this cell phone. However, sadly the phone is not all that user-friendly. The rather clumsy menu structure makes it difficult to quickly carry out a number of different actions. The advantage of the menu structure is that frequently used functions and applications appear at the start of the menu, which makes them easily accessible. The childish appearance of the menu and the slow rotation from vertical to horizontal mode and back are a pity.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

Like its recently announced twin, the S743, HTC's S740 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard edition smartphone with a regular alphanumeric keypad as well as a full QWERTY keyboard.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Recently, the market has been flooded with devices running on the Windows Mobile Professional operating system. Of course there’s nothing wrong with that, but let’s not forget the Windows Mobile Standard smartphones, such as the HTC S740...
