I have had this phone for almost two years and have had to have it replaced 5 TIMES!!! I am very careful with my electonic stuff but this phone has had so many problems. Software glitches every time I delete a picture the phone restarts. The speaker randomly cuts in and then out. It freezes at the "sending message" screen. This phone use to be one of the best now it sucks.
Had the Dare for a year and a half. Was probably the best LG phone I have ever owned. Went with the Chocolate Touch as an upgrade and was totally turned off of LG because of it. Chocolate Touch was not even half the phone the Dare was and still is in comparison. Dropped the phone several times and still performed like a tank.
I had this phone for over two years - and had six of them during that stretch. It's not the smoothest running phone I've ever owned, freezing up and restarting multiple times, the speaker blew out, echoing on phone calls.
But it was still an effective device. It gave me a fairly customizable touch screen device. It's pretty outdated for 2010, compared with the multitude of smartphone options.
Overall, if seeking a media phone from Verizon, I'd recommend the LG Chocolate Touch over this device, as it's pretty much just a newer, sleeker, LG Dare.
LG Dare is a very cool phone. LG Dare is definitely one of my favorite phone. The touchscreen work really well, but sometimes it just doesn't work. The camera was clear, the sound was louder than some phone.
The LG Dare was one of the most advanced "dumbphones" at the time of its launch. The screen was large and vibrant and very easy to navigate. It carried most features found on any handset around.
The biggest plus for the Dare had to be the camera. The 3.2 mp camera was extremely clear. I was able to easily use pictures from the phone for the desktop image on my 17" laptop. Many people complimented my photos and were stunned when they learned they were from a phone. I was even able to take an online photography course using it as my primary camera. The features included with the camera were just as impressive as the quality of the photos. The best camera feature was the 3-shot panorama setting. Some of the panoramas I have taken are downright incredible. The 3 shots blended seamlessly with each other creating breathtaking views... all from a cellphone.
I recommended the Dare to many, many customers while it was available. As a matter of fact, i still own my Dare and use it from time to time when I know I am going to be going somewhere where the panoramic shots will be of good use.

Pros
Camera - Panorama
Clarity; Responsive touchscreen
Cons
Touchscreen not for everyone; Panorama photos would sometimes not blend;
I had this device for over a year and it was one of my favs. The touch screen worked really well and i liked using the camera in panoramic mode for city and event pics. My son loved using the drawing pad and made me some awesome pictures. Wish lg would keep making it or make one with some better music features like FM transmitter.
i have had this phone for a while and i really like it. the camera is fantastic and call quality is great. the virtual keyboard is not the greatest but its workable. the flash for the camera is very useful for taking videos and pictures in the dark or whenever.
I know that there's many phone out now that kick this phone's butt....but all in all, for a high end feature phone at it's time, there was no comparisson. I got this phone in Sep 08 and am still using it today!! Longest I've ever had the same phone.
The LG Dare was not too shabby about 2 years ago when it came out. Since then it has been outdated severely. The camera is still not too bad but it is still sub-par. I use my phone for web browsing and this phone is far from the best.
I've had my Dare for almost 2 years now, I got it right when it came out, something I don't recomend doing for most cell phones because the OS are still a bit buggy. After about software updates I can say I don't have any major problems with the phone. There are two little issues i have with it right now the camera application can randomly quit if put under certain use, and the sending picture message quiting can take a very long time. Besides that this phone is a perfect all around phone for any person who likes touch screens or media capable phones. The battery life on this phone is great.
I loved the phone when I first got it. Not long after having it I started experiencing problems with it shutting off and on, the sound being messed up and various other problems. I went through 6 of these phones all having a different issue. Finally I switched to an Env Touch.
For a feature phone, I loved it. Excellent battery life for what I used it for (web browsing, texting, some calling). For the year I had it, I wouldn't touch anything else. Ended up getting a BB for work.
this was a good phone when first it came out..it had everything then tha tyou needed for a dumb phone...but the way things are going is fast becoming obsolete.....Droid is my next phone...
Hardware: The Dare's fairly robust and feels sturdy in your hand. The soft rubber battery cover feels nice and feels secure. The cover for my microSD got a little bent and the speakerphone button tends to stick, but overall, I can't complain too much about the hardware.
Software: The interface is nice in that it provides you with some basic customization. There's a "white" theme and a "black" theme which looks a bit edgier and sleeker than the white theme. I also like how you can choose from an array of typefaces. There is noticeable lag switching through menus and waiting for games to load. The VZ Navigator interface is hurtful to the eyes...
Touchscreen: It's recommended that you calibrate the screen before using the phone. Sensitivity is mediocre on the keypad, but pretty responsive on the number pad.
Conclusion: It's great if you don't need the bells and whistles of a smartphone, but now that VZW doesn't even offer this phone anymore, other phones have taken its place and seem to be worthy replacements.
At first it strikes you at how small the phone is. Then, the clarity is the screen. After that, it all goes down hill. The screen is too small the clearly see any web pages, the touch screen isn't as responsive as one would like, and the one screen QWERTY keyboard is redundant because of the size of the devise.
Haha your kidding right?
