Pentax Optio E50 Pro Reviews

ephotozine‘s review Edit

Even when compared to other inexpensive digital cameras the Pentax Optio E50 is some way off in terms of quality. Yes it is cheap, but I'm not convinced it offers value for money.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

For the price and it's market the Pentax E50 does it's job, but it's hardly the best camera on the market, even for £100. The poor LCD monitor and lack of features are obviously cost cutters, but the 8million pixel CCD sensor and lens really should be better. Yes you'll be able to take reasonable pictures, but no better than those of a 5 or 6 million pixel camera. It's best feature is is simplicity, so if you want something for the non-techy person in your life, the E50 might fit the bill.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

As a digital camera sold at bargain basement prices the Pentax Optio E50 has a lot to offer – in both good and bad ways. It has a very fast zoom speed, good build quality, fast rapid fire modes, but also has lots of ISO noise, intense purple fringe on high-contrast shots, and a disappointing white balance system.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio E50 is an excellent upgrade of the E40 from a year ago. While these two share very similar specs (same 8-megapixel sensor, image quality and basic features), the performance has been greatly improved upon, making this a camera worth considering if you are looking for an entry-level digicam.
