The XZ2 Compact is priced at $600 (€600 in Europe), and this price makes it cheaper than flagship phones like the Galaxy S9 . Yet still, these rivals – while not as compact – bring a lot more to the table: the Galaxy S9 has the more refined design, a significantly better-looking display, a much better camera and that good old headphone jack. It is also again slightly bigger and more expensive, though. The Pixel 2 brings a superior camera, much smoother performance and Google’s unbeatable promise for fast Android software updates. The XZ2 Compact, however, has its peculiar charm: it has a clean and likable Android interface and a chubby body that is different. But it just seems to be little more than a tiny Android phone that just works and has decent battery life. It does not have a particularly great camera or any captivating new features.
