HTC U11 Pro Reviews

TechSpot‘s review Edit

I wasn’t as impressed with the exterior design, but the U11 is comfortable to hold and now IP67 water resistant. On the downside, HTC has kept the enormous bezels, not just above and below the display, but on the sides as well. Many manufacturers are moving away from massive bezels in favor of expansive displays, and I wish HTC would follow suit here because the U11 is larger than necessary. On a more positive note, I don’t mind HTC’s Sense skin these days, as the company has stripped out most of the crap in favor of an experience that falls closer to stock Android. Bloatware and duplicate apps are minimal, the design fits in well with the rest of Android, and HTC’s update track record has been improving over the past year or so.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The U11 looks good, although care needs to be taken to protect the front and back of the smartphone, as both are made of glass. Ours came with a protective case in the box. The smartphone can be squeezed to activate the camera and take photos. Image quality is excellent, with sharp detailed photos, and great colour. Focus isn't quite as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S8, but it's still quite quick. The selfie camera offers 16mp images, however, the lack of auto-focus means individual selfies could be a little soft, and some competitors feature AF (and OIS). Overall, if you're looking for a stylish smartphone, and mainly use the rear camera, then the U11 offers excellent image quality.

You won’t be picking this one up for squeezable sides. You’ll be picking up the HTC U11 for the performance and the design.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The HTC U11 is a wildly impressive phone - in a sea of wildly impressive phones. The core abilities will wow any HTC fan, but the squeezable sides really fail to impress.

PC World‘s review Edit

The HTC U11 has a top-notch processor and camera, and its Edge Sense quick-launch feature is a gimmick that's super fun.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The HTC U11 is somewhat of a phone unstuck in time. It's got all the processing might of any 2017 flagship, offers a modern, quite useful digital assistant, and dips its toes in high-tech features like active noise cancellations. But it's also a phone that feels – and maybe more critically, looks – a little dated.
