Motorola Moto G5 Pro Reviews

ephotozine‘s review Edit

If you’re looking for a fairly stylish entry level smartphone, the Moto G5 offers good value for money, with metal touches, and a fingerprint sensor giving the smartphone a more premium feel. Images from the camera are good, with good colour and detail, with reliable exposure. Auto HDR helps in scenes with high levels of contrast, and the camera app gives more advanced controls in the Pro mode (more controls than most point and shoot cameras!) – it’s a shame compact cameras limit your controls – yet a budget smartphone gives you manual controls! Due to noise in images, shooting in sunny bright conditions will give better images. The limiting factor could be the amount of storage, as 16GB is quickly used up if you install a lot of apps, take a lot of photos and video, or want to put music on your phone. Otherwise, this is a good little phone, and the 3GB version from Amazon gives you more ram than some budget phones.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

This super cheap price segment that the Moto G5 belongs to is all about compromise, though, and the G5 makes a lot of those compromises: the design is outdated, the camera is decidedly average, battery life is good, but not great, and the performance is decent, but not future-proof. That said, we can't deny the fact that the Moto G5 presents us with what's probably the best possible all-around experience at this super-low price point. At the end of the day, when all's said and done, the Moto G5 is a decent cheap phone that gets the job done: calls, emails, browsing, etc, but probably not one that you will love using. For that, you’ll have to spend a bit more.

Cnet‘s review Edit

Overall, the Moto G5 delivers a hell of a lot for very little money. It does almost everything you'd expect of a modern phone, and while it doesn't have the raw processing performance or camera skills of elite phones, it handles any of your everyday tasks with a smile and won't cripple your bank account either.
