Samsung Galaxy S8+ Pro Reviews

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Both phones have very distinct strengths: for the Galaxy S8+ that is the immersive bezel-less screen with eye-popping colors, the more modern design, Android with its better notifications, customizations and open nature, as well as support for little conveniences like the headphone jack. The iPhone 8 Plus has other strong points: it is the faster phone with a buttery smooth performance that the Galaxy cannot match, it has that dual camera with Portrait mode which is a gimmick, but a fun one, it is also the more versatile device for creatives, it is the go-to phone for gamers, and last but not least, it will certainly get updates faster and be supported for way longer than the Samsung Galaxy phone.

If you're not willing to pay extra for Samsung's ultra flashy phone, then it should be a no-brainer – the OnePlus 5 is the one for you. And even if you're willing to pay more, but you're not a fan of the curved screen on the S8+, or the new aspect ratio, the OnePlus 5 is still one of the best options out there, considering the price point.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

At the end of the day, the Galaxy S8+ is a phone I’d recommend to most buyers, but only if you’re willing to put up with its fragility. At over $800 outright, it’s an expensive handset, so it’d be devastating to see it shatter within a few weeks. Keep good care of it, though, and you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic range of hardware that could just be worth its high asking price.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Both the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 5 were built to be the most advanced and most premium-looking handsets that Samsung is capable of producing at their respective times of release. For that reason, the S8+ is a futuristic-looking piece of mobile technology, which will definitely have lots of users throwing money at it. But it's also the reason why the Galaxy Note 5 has aged very well.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is a larger version of the excellent Galaxy S8, trading a slightly bigger battery for a form factor that isn't as easy to use in one hand.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The GS8+ doesn't have to be the best phone in order to be a great phone. There are rivals out there with slightly better cameras, considerably better performance, and more affordable prices, but that's not the point. The point is this: if you want an Android phablet that screams premium, offers almost every possible feature there is, and handles every task with an impressive degree of excellence, you don't need to look elsewhere, because the Galaxy S8+ is right here, and it gives you all that.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The iPhone 7 Plus design, in its third year, is getting a bit long in the tooth, and it shows next to that flashy bezel-buster, the Galaxy S8+, and all of its curves. The S8+ doesn't really offer more screen real estate, though, and letterboxes apps and videos made with 16:9 ratio in mind, so its elongated, narrow chassis serves mostly aesthetic and ergonomics purposes for now.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

In a nutshell, the Galaxy S8+ has our irrational sympathy: it’s good looking and futuristic, but if you are looking for the best value for the money, the S7 Edge is still worth getting.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Galaxy S8 Plus is the Android phone you want if you like big and tall smartphones. It has a massive 6.2-inch display that doesn’t make the actual dimensions of the device much bigger. Samsung’s trick was to rid its phone of the physical home button and surrounding bezel, and while that means it has an annoyingly placed rear, off-center fingerprint sensor, the amazing display, great camera and slick software should make you forget about this flaw and its Bixby voice assistant being a no-show on day one.

Lovers of big phones won't find a prettier device with a larger screen anywhere else, but you'll want to make sure it isn't too tall for you, and the fingerprint reader too hard to reach, before you commit.

PC World‘s review Edit

With a stunning 6.2-inch screen and a brilliantly compact design, the Galaxy S8+ isn't just a new flagship from Samsung, it's the best phone anyone has ever made.
