Hitting the sweet spot for price and performance in a VR-ready PC, the Lenovo Ideacentre Y900 is a safe mainstream choice to pair with your HTC Vive or Oculus Rift headset.

Visually, the IdeaCentre Y900 has a mildly aggressive look without appearing gaudy. We give Lenovo props for darkening the back and interior of the case, giving it a much more upscale look than the lesser-priced IdeaCentre Y700. The side window is a nice touch, though there’s no dedicated internal case lighting beyond the red lighting emanating from the CPU cooler's fan and the rear exhaust fan. If you want ultra-flashy looks, you’ll need to look at one of the smaller custom builders, or invest in some LED strips. We rarely give the included peripherals much consideration in a buy, but the IdeaCentre Y900 happens to include Lenovo’s new $139.99 mechanical gaming keyboard and $69.99 laser gaming mouse in its price. These are light years ahead, quality-wise, of what you’ll get with almost any desktop we've seen in recent years. The keyboard has an outstanding chattery feel, and the mouse is comfortable, accurate, and laden with programmable buttons.
