Apple iPhone 7 Pro Reviews

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Given the comparable pricing, those looking to buy a new phone may indeed be swayed by the snazzy and unique design of the Galaxy S8, at least until the next iPhone edition lands, provided that they aren't deeply invested in Apple's app and entertainment services already.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

At the end of the day, the Apple iPhone 7 and HTC 10 are two great choices for those looking for a stylish phone that is also fast and has a good camera. On these fronts, both phones deliver. There are some important nuances, though: the iPhone 7 with its iOS 10 platform runs smoother and has a superior selection of games and even some apps, it also boasts slightly longer battery life, and the water-resistance comes as a very nice bonus feature. The HTC 10 is not a slow phone by any means, but its performance seems a bit janky, lacking the smooth animations and calm appeal of iOS, it is a bit on the heavy side, and it cannot stand its ground in a direct benchmark and gaming comparison. Its interface also feels weird in certain places and it lacks that nice water-protection feature, but it does have quick charging that the iPhone lacks.

At the end of the day, this is understandable: the LG G5 is the cheaper of the two. In the United States, the G5 is currently offered with a $100 gift card at about the same retail price as the iPhone 7, but internationally there is a much more significant gap between the price of the G5 and the iPhone 7. Still, the LG G5, has its strong points: we enjoy its capable camera, the super fast charging, and the fact its interface now runs relatively stutter-free. Sure, the G5’s modularity turned out to be nothing more than a gimmick, but if you can get the phone at a fair (and significantly lower than the iPhone) price, it’s worth taking a look. If money is no concern, though, the iPhone is the winner.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

These smartphones each represent something special, bringing you a mobile experience expertly honed by the companies also behind their respective smartphone platforms. That means an attention to detail that you won't always find from some third-party phone-maker, and exceptionally tight integration with software and services. Neither choice will let you down, so what's it going to be? With so much falling to individual preferences, this decision's ultimately on you.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The iPhone 7 is an exquisitely built smartphone, with excellent build quality and design. The screen is clear with very good colour, and one of the most marketed features of the phone is the new camera. In this area, the iPhone 7 performs very well, images are bright and colourful, and with an f/1.8 aperture, and optical image stabilisation images can be taken in low-light whilst keeping the ISO speeds lot. You can also shoot raw and apps like Lightroom Mobile give you more control over photos.

PC World‘s review Edit

The iPhone 7 has more speed, a better camera, double the storage, and a more vibrant screen. But some people might be turned off by little annoyances that previous iPhones didn't have.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

Better cameras, faster performance, and water-resistance are probably enough to convince many that it’s time for an upgrade. They have, after all, the potential to legitimately impact your day to day experience of living with an iPhone. The decision is a whole lot easier if you’re using an older iPhone, too: the iPhone 7 will be a significant improvement. All the same, I couldn’t blame you for sticking with your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, installing iOS 10, and holding out another twelve months to see what the seeds sown in the iPhone 7 bloom into. That way, you get to prolong your love affair with the headphone jack, too.In the end, it comes down to whether you want to go along with Apple for the ride, or sit and watch what happens from the sidelines.

Gizmodo‘s review Edit

Next year’s iPhone is going to be the real bonanza, but the iPhone 7 is helping pave the way to get there. Yet in the present this is still a damn good phone, even if its frankenstein camera and home button that’s not really a button are a little weird. If you’re on an iPhone 6S you don’t need to upgrade but if you have an iPhone 6 or earlier, it’s worth checking out.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Probably the easiest target to hang on the iPhone 7 is the phone's missing headphone jack, but even that's not the disaster it could be. While we don't quite agree with the way Apple's framing itself as courageous for dropping the port, it's still a big move that – as we mentioned – is going to have far-reaching consequences. Do benefits like the phone's larger battery outweigh the inconvenience of needing that adapter for older headphones? Or the need to buy all-new Lightning-equipped headphones?

The iPhone 7's notable camera, battery and water resistance improvements are worthwhile upgrades to a familiar phone design. But ask yourself if you really need an upgrade... and if the Plus might be a better choice.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

If you're going to buy a new iPhone, this is the one to get – there's slightly longer battery life, a better camera, fast innards and protection against water. However, many of the changes are slight, and the iPhone 6S, for the lower price, suddenly becomes a very attractive option.
