HTC 10 Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

HTC has put all the right bits in here, but I felt the same way with the One M9. However, the brand seems to have addressed the foibles and it's easy to get genuinely excited by the HTC 10.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

At the end of the day, the Apple iPhone 7 and HTC 10 are two great choices for those looking for a stylish phone that is also fast and has a good camera. On these fronts, both phones deliver. There are some important nuances, though: the iPhone 7 with its iOS 10 platform runs smoother and has a superior selection of games and even some apps, it also boasts slightly longer battery life, and the water-resistance comes as a very nice bonus feature. The HTC 10 is not a slow phone by any means, but its performance seems a bit janky, lacking the smooth animations and calm appeal of iOS, it is a bit on the heavy side, and it cannot stand its ground in a direct benchmark and gaming comparison. Its interface also feels weird in certain places and it lacks that nice water-protection feature, but it does have quick charging that the iPhone lacks.

AnandTech‘s review Edit

In light of everything, the HTC 10 feels like it shows a lot of attention to detail and care that seems to be absent in a lot of devices that I’ve had to review in the past few years. There are definitely sore spots like the display and WiFi, but on the whole the great camera, audio, design, and software experience come together to make a great phone that has really aged quite well over the past few months. There’s been a lot of discussion about how the price is too much, but realistically it looks like the price is closer to 600 USD due to frequent discounts. Considering the direct competition in the price range, on the basis of the device itself I would argue that the price is about in line with expectation. Even now, with the iPhone 7 and Note7 available my experiences with the HTC 10 lead me to believe that it’s well worth buying still if you’re looking for a high-end Android device that can be used with one hand.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Were this any other year, we'd have an easy time calling this one and giving it to Samsung. But HTC is back, and the 10 is rock-solid. This makes the question of “which?” a rather personal affair. We tend to like the way the HTC 10 handles better, but once you slap on a case, it quickly turns into a win for the slimmer S7 edge. With the displays, however, the S7 edge has the clear... well, edge. While the HTC 10 isn't terrible in this regard, its rival is brighter and better suited for the summer. Onto interface, that's probably where most people will make up their minds. The HTC 10's Sense 8 UI is utilitarian and down to the point, whereas the Galaxy S7 edge will feel more at home in the hands of folks who like reminding others that they're 'power users'. In the end, and as much as we'd love to call it straight, there's simply no objective winner here. It's two excellent devices that come across as meant for different types of people. Hopefully, we were able to help you find your match.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The HTC 10 ended up a very well-made phone, with barely a perceivable weakness that would preclude you from getting it. It has a clean and quick interface, quite the improved camera, and a dedicated strength in the audio department, so all is well if you are in the Android camp.Against the iPhone 6s it stands up taller and thicker, though – literally – and its camera abilities leave a bit to be desired in comparison. Still, the HTC 10 doesn't lag that much behind the iPhone 6s, so if you'd like to be part of the Android camp, the 10 is a perfectly fine choice. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s continues to be the preferred choice for a more user-friendly and refined overall experience.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Considering that the HTC 10 still produces pretty good photos, I’d class the smartphone as one of the best options of the year so far. The price might be a bit hard to swallow for those who buy unlocked devices – it’s $50 more expensive than the outstanding Galaxy S7 – but overall I’m impressed with the HTC 10 and the way HTC has rebounded from a tough couple of years.

PC World‘s review Edit

Looks great, sounds great, takes great photos, but it's hard to swallow a $700 price when it doesn't bring anything new and innovative to the table.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The unlocked HTC 10 is the best Android phone for audiophiles and it offers plenty for everyone else too. This could be HTC's big comeback.

Get the HTC 10 if you want a phone that delivers great audio. For all your other needs, look elsewhere.
