Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 (2nd Gen) Pro Reviews

Those who haven't owned a Lenovo PC would find the Yoga 12 an option very much worth considering. Unlike some of the other models, this Yoga comes with its own stylus, allowing one to fully leverage the tablet-like position option. In addition, there are fairly powerful hardware options for those who with more demanding needs, and it is all coupled with a high-quality display and svelte but robust body.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 is a business-oriented, convertible-hybrid laptop that offers better performance than most ultraportable laptops, along with greater flexibility.

A convertible isn't for everyone. It typically exacts a weight and price penalty for the pleasure of offering tablet and other usage modes, so if all you want is a traditional clamshell laptop you can do better elsewhere—for instance, with one of Lenovo's famed ThinkPad X series ultraportables (the X250 is now in our review pipeline). But the ThinkPad Yoga 12 comes very close to 12.5-inch clamshells in size and weight, as well as price when similarly equipped. And tablet, tent, and stand modes do come in handy on the couch, in a meeting, on airline tray tables, and so on. If you're sold on a convertible, there are less expensive alternatives, such as the excellent HP Spectre x360. But for business buyers who need a durable, lightweight machine, it's hard to beat the ThinkPad Yoga 12. It offers a superb screen and keyboard along with a lot of extra conveniences you won't find on other hybrids.
